Go with the bauer 4000 or 5000, definetley sick lids and dont cost half as much.

I would get the Bauer 8000, but out of the two you are set on, I would get the Intake.

that's a really good deal on the intake. but i'm partial to my 4000 i got about 3 years ago. it's definately the best helmet i've ever owned. i probably got ripped off though(with "true vision" cage it was $160) the True Vision cage is like a bubble though so don't get that.
i have about three or four friends with 8k's who love them.
personally, i'd go with the intake

The 8K helmet is really comfortable, fits well and it is extremely protective.
If you are worried about cost, RBK has a 6K that will becoming out soon. That is priced around the same as the Intake and IW will have them in a couple of months.
Honestly, the best way to chose a helmet is to get something that gives you a good fit that offers the most protection. Concussions are no fun!

1. The Hefter Evolution is not for sale...see the Hefter Evo thread.
2. Helmets are for head protection more than for your good looks. Try on the different helmets for the one that fits the best. If it happens to be the better looking out of all of your options, your better off.

yeah, like it was said, just go try stuff on, equipment comes down to fit, you can buy the best looking top of the line stuff, but if it doesnt fit right, its still worse than cheap end ugly things that fit you correctly
id also add in response to a few people in this thread, when it comes to protective equipment, especially on the head, you really care that much what it looks like...they all look fine....they are hockey helmets get a grip

ya im in canada, so the 8k is 200 (thats the first thing that kinda put me off buying that) but they look good but i saw the 6k might be coming out soon any idea how much that costs? if its too much the intake is only 140 here in canada and that helmet would probably be better for me.

I was comtemplating purchasing either the Mission Intake or the RBK 6K.
I would probably lean towards the 6K, but they don't come in maroon... to the best of my knowledge, anyway.
Does anyone know if they will?

well i had my 8k since march and its a bloody good helmet! its light, the customizable fit is neat too. and to be honest i think it looks pretty damn sweet, i don't know what the issue some ppl have with the design cos everyone whos actually seen one loves it. your only concern now is someone stealing it.. i wonder whether i can get my helmet insured.. hmm

i think the design for the Inatake is overrated the 8K looks the best out of the two
