yea , I called a buddy of mine that used to play inline for Penn State , to see if he wanted to go out . He said not really , and that was the exact same reason he gave me

I'd imagine it is the same guy. He's a radio personality/celebrity in the Pittsburgh area. I've heard similar things about his hockey tournaments; Horrendous officiating.

He holds his tournaments at Hot shots, and word on the street is , if Hot Shots aint your home rink , you wont get any calls. Not even a bloodied face high stick

Hot shots is our home rink and we still don't get calls, lol

so , what your saying is , its not nessasarilly Mark. Its just that the refs at hot shots havent found out where to purchase a $3 whistle?

well mark sometimes has his own ref's as well

That's exactly what I'm saying. There are a few decent ones down there but few and far between. I'm not one to complain about calls or lack thereof but they just don't call much of anything. I don't think it's Mark per se. We still play there because we enjoy the tourneys but the officiating can leave much to be desired.

Somebody could get killed at hot shots.............the refs may as well have stayed home. we lost one guy to a broken collar bone, off a full out blast, check into the boards,.......no call .The refs at hot shots are the worst in the state of PA

I saw that donnybrook , our game followed that one. That was good one . I mean im not usually one to complain about a little contact , thats hockey. But the fact of the matter is , it was to be a non checking tournament and you really did need shoulder pads. Im just upset because our Ice season playoffs start Sunday and we lost one of our better players due to a broken collar bone off a check. If the refs would call , even a few penaltys , that wouldnt happen. To sum that rink up in one word , i would have to say - physical.

After the last tournament my team decided we had enough of the BS and won't ever play their again.

Our team will no longer visit hot shots arena either , its a shame they cant find some refs , because it is a nice facility
