Default Easton EQ Skates

I have skated on these skates 4 times so far and I am very impressed by the feel and performance. They were baked 2 times because after 1st use they were a bit tight on my bottom of foot ...the second time I did them I stayed on my feet to let the boots stretch out more....It did the trick and they fit perfectly...I have the EQ40's which according to the IW site, they are just a few clicks down from the top of the line 50's....I really cannot tell they are brand new after skating the 4 times now...they were stiffer at first but that was because they were brand new...I had Synergy 1500's before these so it was a lateral move for the skate design......as for taking a few pucks off the boots, they are solid and I didn't feel some solid pucks to the foot.......they are 2 ounces heavier than the 1500's 1pound 12 ounce so weight is not dramatic change...the liner is self forming and there are NO hot spots or lace bite that I could see or feel...over all I am pleased with the skates and if you are an easton user or just want to try an easy break-in skate that gives performance too, this may be the skate for you......graphics are mostly old school as they are predominantly black but i really never noticed anybody's skates while i was playing them......price is midline for new skate standards ($350 regular price) but I believe at amateur levels, you will get the top performance that can be expected...maybe if they were lighter, it might make you a quarter to half stride faster.......good luck

Update on EQ40....so after skating on these for 3 months, I can say performance is great but since I play defense, the protection is NOT as good as the one piece composite boot of the 1500 or similar versions.....blocking pucks off the boot hurts...alot.........as for the skating, I have NO complaints at all....these feel as good as any pair I have worn in comfort....If you are primarily a forward, you should have NO problems after a few times skating

OK...ONE more update on My EQ40 skates....I switched back to my Synergy 1300 and 1500 skates....there is just something about the protection and the fit that I enjoy so much more out of the older skates...I still keep the EQ's in my bag but the 1300/1500's are my gamers

Just got a pair of EQ30's felt good during baking, hopefully they feel just as good out on the ice!!! I play forward, so it should be alright with slightly less padding.

I got a 9.5 EE, haven't been able to fit in a regular width skate for years, always have to order them online!
