Default How to best defend against "fishing" teams?

In your opinion - what is the best way to defend/play against teams that play using an extreme "fishing" (Cherry Picking) tactic?

Ie, teams that basically defend using only four players (more or less) and have their 5:th player constantly sneak behind the opponents defenders in the middle zone looking for the deep pass in order to be able to mount a 1-0 attack.

Leave one of your own defenders back and thus only attack using four players, or is there some smarter tactic that can be used to (get smarter/quicker defenders? :-)?

The best tactic is to ensure that your defensemen don't let anyone behind them. If that means that one needs to stay back, then so be it. Otherwise, just having a defensive awareness and knowing where their players are at all times.

Really if your team is good enough ...you're on a power play until the cherry picker realizes his team is short handed. Work on you're 5 on 4's.
