Default CCM v06 or Mission Soldier Se

Hey guys, I am in the market for some brand new skates and I am between the CCM v06 and the Mission Se Soldiers. If any of you have one of these or just want to give me some feedback on them, that would be great!

Just my $0.02, in the same price range I would consider the new RBK 6K! The wheels and chassis are pretty much identical (to V06) but the boot is going to be alittle better. Its going to be alittle stiffer, lighter, will have the skatelock (which most call lacelock) its not as mid tall, and obviously the new pump system for more comfort or importantly heel ankle/heel lifting. My last two pairs were Missions and then this week I had to chance to see the new 2010 line and some of RBKs training material on them, it was pretty interesting! Enough to switch to the 8Ks

I have the vector 06's, and to go with my narrow heel and wide forefoot, it is the most comfortable boot ive ever had for roller. in addion, im really taking a likeing to the tri di chassis which I hated at first

Both are solid skates. However, the Soldier SE skates from Mission are the premier skates in the Mission line. So they will have some additional features and better components (bearings, wheels, frame). To compare two skates that are little more comparable check out the 10K skates to the Mission skates.

The Soldiers are the lowest tier of the syndicate line for Mission. All Missions have proven to be solid skates.

I think Tyson was thinking Boss SE when he typed this out.

If it's my dime, I'm buying the Soldier SE anyday over the CCM or Reebok. The outsole on the CCM is worse than the other two options, Reebok boots tend to be a little softer in the quarter panels, and the Tri-Di axles have been downright garbage for a few years. I don't know if they've improved them at all this year.

The Soldier SE is a lot of boot for $200. The chassis was downgraded from the 7000 aluminum to 6000 this year, but it's solid looking. You're getting Hot Shots and pretty standard fare on bearings on all three.

Now I'm A.) pretty Mission biased when it comes to inlines and B.) a bigger heavier skater so the boot stiffness is a huge deal for me both for performance and longevity so take what I say with those factors in mind.

My first questions for you are what are you in now, how does it fit and what are your likes/dislikes? Working from that helps narrow it down even more

I have the 09 soldier blacks... at first I thought they were great because they were super comfy. But it turns out that it's only because the boot is so soft. They've gotten so soft (after 4 months) to the point I can't use them and had to replace them. I dont know how comparable the soldier black boot is to the new soldier se, but I'm just giving you a heads up on what could happen.

I also have owned the Reebok 5k and those boots are definitely stiffer and lasted me much longer than the soldiers. I would look towards Reebok for a lower end skate.

Also, maybe consider buying an ice skate for conversion? I recently did it and I'm really happy with it... grand total of $155 (without wheels/bearings). Bauer x20 with mission vanguard (not the crappy chassis that comes on the soldiers). Even though the x20 is a lower end skate, it's a much better boot than what you will find in a mid-$200 roller skate.

the Soldier SE and Assassin SE feel a bit stiffer than the Syndicate/Syndicate Black lines. I know exactly what you're talking about with the Soldier Black, the outsole was softened up a bit from the prior Soldier skate. The RBK pump skates were the ones I was referring to as feeling a little softer in the quarters.

The aftermarket Vanguard you bought is the exact same as on the Soldiers though materials-wise. The frame cutouts are a little different, but essentially the same thing.

So I totally went with the new Soldiers and what a great skate. I have some tour skates lying around and I hate them because the boot is sooo soft. These feel great and were worth every penny... I need to change the wheels to a higher grade for asphalt play but other that, these skates are night and day compared to my old tour 800's.

Nope... definitely a different chassis. Like you said, the materials used in each chassis are probably the same, but the difference is not only in the cutouts. The construction is better on the chassis I bought compared to the soldier chassis. The ones I have are basically the same as the Assassin chassis. The difference between the Assassin and Soldier chassis is that one is extruded, and one is bent to shape. Basically, the extruded chassis should be stronger . Take a look at these pics:

Extruded

Not extruded

EDIT: Oh and also, when you say this year's Solider SE had a downgrade in the chassis, do you mean from the original Soldier or the Soldier Blacks? Because the Solider Blacks have the same chassis as this years Solider SE, just repainted.
