Default Toe pain

I've been wearing my Bauer VIII skates for about @7 years now. Im starting to notice a nasty left pinky toe pain at the mid point of most of my games now. The pain has gotten so bad I sometimes have to remove the skate on the bench. I play adult ice about 3 to 5 times a week. My shoe size is US 10 but my skate size are 9.5D on these skates. I know that its a size larger but it felt great when I bought them and when I first started skated on them.

My question is - Can this pain be corrected by something as simple as sock thickness, new sole insert, or do I have to buy a wider boot? Is EE the next size width? I think I know the answer and that's a wider boot, just wanted to see what other people have to say. Thanks

Had the toes widened and heated today at Hockey Monkey. I'll know in a few days if this makes a difference.

Take them to a pro shop and try getting them re-baked or get the side of it punched out if they have that service.
