Default Ice Hockey Skate for casual skater

Hi there,

I am looking to buy a comfortable hockey skate for a casual skater. I may skate once or twice a month. Wife is taking skating lessons and I am tired of renting crappy skates. I purchase a pair of Bauer 8090 but after skating on them 2 times I do not like them and think they are too advance for me. I skate better on rental skates. I am somewhat new to ice skating but have had inline hockey skates for years. I would say I'm an avg skater skill wise. I was looking at the Easton Synergy 200 Senior Ice Hockey Skates. Price is not much of an issue. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Bushy

I would try on skates in your price range and see which ones are the most comfortable.

you should definately not be buying top of the line skates until you can use them to their maximum potential.try starting off with something like a Nike Flexlite 9 or a Nike/Bauer supreme 30 or even some 192 tacks(ccm) would do you good

Hey Bushy you are jumping the gun here, give your supreme 8090 a chance to break in , like those rentals . no need to bother looking for other pair

I thought about the break-in but I think the boot is too stiff for my skating level and skating only 1-2's a month I would have trouble breaking those in. It is a very stiff boot and I had them baked when I bought them. They feel fine on my feet its that I dont feel confident on the skate. Thanks for the advice. I am going to head to the local skate shop to try on a few different pairs and see which one's I like.
