Overview

The Powerslide Swell 110 Skates in Black Fire have large, fast, and smooth 110mm wheels. Short 10.6" frames keep you forward-leaning and pushing hard. They are super fun to get in and around trouble, as well as be used for longer distances, marathons, and fitness training. The frames, of course, are easily removed if wanting to change to another length or configuration on any given day.

The Swell boots feature an anatomically shaped shell. The cuffs are adjustable up/down and there are flex cuts toward the front should you want to increase forward flex.  The recall memory foam feels great and they are well-ventilated with second-skin Powerknit uppers using welded TPU reinforcements to increase responsiveness and stability. High-abrasion TPU material protects your toes and side panels making them durable and longer-lasting. The closures ensure a secure fit with a 45-degree strap, standard lacing, and standard cuff buckle. Underneath, TRINITY X mounting gives you a lower center of gravity as it positions your foot closer to the ground with its winged shape under the ball of the foot. Look forward to great power transfer with the Powerslide Elite ADC10 Aluminum Frames and smooth-rolling 110mm  85A wheels housed with Wicked ABEC9 bearings. Comes with a HABS (height adjustable brake system) brake.

KEY TECHNOLOGIES
Trinity X Mounting
The combination of the 'along' mounting block of the boot with the 'across' mounting slot of the frame. This allows for frame adjustment both laterally (7mm) and front to back (8mm) to individual preference and/or to correct ankles from wanting to roll (pronation/supination). Trinity frames mount at three points with two off-set winged mounts under the ball of the foot that creates a channel for the wheels to lower the skate, adding stability and power at push-off.
HABS Height Adjustable Brake System
An easy and secure brake that allows for the brake pad to adjust up and down to prolong the life of the rubber. A rear axle that is threaded at both ends allows for the installation and removal of the brake with four outer screws that eliminate having to remove the axle or wheel.

Sizing Chart

GENERAL SWELL SIZING GUIDELINES
Slim to average width. Displayed in US Men's - Designed for all genders. Add .5cm for a relaxed fit - Add 1.0 cm for wide feet. For a more precise measurement, we recommend measuring the length of both feet from the heel to the end of your longest toe. You can do this by standing on a piece of paper with your heel against the wall and with your socks on, marking your heel and toe with a pencil. Measure the distance of both feet and correspond your longest measurement to the sizing chart below. For information on how to measure feet Click Here.

First impressionThe Swell 110 could be and probably is a great skate for some, but I swapped mine out for a different skate. The Swell 110 has a semi-rigid cuff, and I found myself fighting the cuff to lace up the skates. The ankle straps are also stiff and in the way of lacing. For me, the collar has a bit too much padding and I found that I am more used to and comfortable in a lower boot. These features alone frustrated me so I exchanged them for a boot more like my old Powerslide R4s - the Arise SL, which so far I love. I ordered them in my normal shoe size and they fit almost perfectly. Lengthwise they're perfect, ball-width nicely snug with a little play in the ankles, but I have skinny ankles. I skated 30 minutes indoors and an hour outdoors so far and not a mark or pain of any kind on my feet. Next time out I'll try using my neoprene booties, which I have in a few thicknesses, to fill the free space in the ankles. I also have the option to heat mold the boots if needed. I don't use the included toe straps and they can easily be removed if you choose to. The instep and ankle straps hold the boot on well. I don't think it's my imagination when I say I can feel the lateral support of the Trinity mount. Being used to a 4x110 setup, I wasn't sure if the 3-wheel shorter wheelbase would be comfortable as far as flipping back on the skates but it's fine. (Flipping back would be my mistake by not being in a proper skating posture.) I could have gone for the Arise RDs with a longer wheelbase but I chose the SL for maneuverability and the option to add on the type of brake I'm most familiar with, as the RD requires the Synchro brake. I would have liked to review the skates after putting more miles on them, but temps in the 90s and high humidity have a chokehold on strenuous outdoor activity. I should also mention that Adam was a great help throughout the process and got me into skates I'm very happy with. In fact, I have found everyone I've dealt with at Inline Warehouse to be helpful, knowledgeable and polite, making the process all that much easier. Thank you Adam and thank you Inline Warehouse for an overall satisfying experience.

Swell FirePurchased these after having the Swells in 100mm. Love them so much I upgraded to these. Measured foot but ended up needing to exchange. I’d say true to your shoe size. But exchanging is easy if you need to. These are smooth and comfortable. As with anything it does take a few times out to break them in. The Powerslides are by far the best brand skate I’ve had.
